I’ve had a lot going on the past few days, including my sister’s move to Texas which I’ll post about sometime soon. I’ve been an emotional wreck and am in all ways exhausted, so today is a perfect day to play Eloise’s game of tag. I find these fun to read and even more fun to answer, so here goes. Maybe you’ll learn something about me:
1. Where is your cell phone? right in front of me, on my desk so I can attend to my sister’s text messages from the road like, “Can you find a hotel on Interstate 30 that allows dogs?” and “How much farther into Texas is this torrential rain going to last?”
2. Your significant other? Where is he? At home, I think.
3. Your hair? I was a towhead as a child, but as I get older it’s darkening. I get blond highlights twice a year.
4. Your mother? Moved to the Detroit area after the crash of the mortgage industry (in which she’s worked for 25 years) in our area. I still see her at least once a month, but I really wish she were closer. She’s the rock in my life.
5. Your father? Lost his battle to Acute Myeloid Leukemia in 2006.
6. Your favorite things? family, travel, reading, good company, good food
7. Your dream last night? I’ve had really vivid dreams all week, but today I can’t remember. Probably the early alarm that jolted me out of bed an hour earlier than normal. This week, though, I’ve had dreams about receiving a text message from a coworker that she had been fired and also about being on an airplane that had a cockpit that resembled where a bus driver would sit, and my overhead luggage was stolen. I looked all over, and I could see it reflected in the giant mirror above the pilot/bus driver’s seat, but every time I turned around, it wasn’t to be found. Bizarre.
8. Your favorite drink? Diet Coke.
9. Your dream/goal? to have a healthy relationship with my man, to become a mother, to publish a novel, to be able to give my mom a good life in old age, and to have enough money to travel
10. The room you’re in? My office. On a 15 minute break.
11. Your hobby? reading is #1.
12. Your fear? never having children, dying without having done a good chunk of what I want to accomplish
13. Where do you want to be in 6 years? Yikes, that makes me 38. I want my credit card debt paid off, to be married, a child, and my relationship to be stable and healthy. Not necessarily in that order!
14. What you’re not? conservative
15. Muffins? not really
16. One of your wish list items? maid service
17. Where you grew up? that would be telling, wouldn’t it?
18. The last thing you did? attended a management meeting
19. What are you wearing? A black skirt with a stain from being scorched by the iron, a print shirt that I didn’t realize until halfway thru my meeting was actually on backwards, and an old favorite black sweater with a hole in the armpit. I look a mess.
20. Favorite gadget? is a computer a gadget?
21. Your pets? Alice (fat cat) and Zoe (doggie)
22. Your computer? Dell at work, Dell at home, and a Dell laptop. Jason wants a Mac product badly.
23. Your mood? triste
24. Missing someone? yes. my kiddos. (nephew 6, niece 4, nephew 2) and my mom.
25. Your car? Mitsubishi Eclipse. I’m over it. Ready for a family-friendly 4 door that’s still small and economical. Maybe a prius.
26. Something you’re not wearing? accessories. I never give myself enough time to get out the door in the morning with accessories on. Half the time I skip the makeup.
27. Favorite store? Probably Target. What can’t you get at Target? Oh, but I DO love bookstores!
28. Like someone? I share Eloise’s unrequited crush on Colin Firth
29. Your favorite color? blue
30. When is the last time you laughed? Well there’s nothing funny about 8AM meetings, so probably last night when boyfriend was being funny.
31. Last time you cried? yesterday. Lots.
So now, of course the rules are that I tag someone else. No pressure to actually follow through, but I tag Sus and Stranger. If nothing else, I’ve given my millions of readers (sarcasm) a link to your pages!

I’m not sure I’ve nailed the whole tagging (I just put a link in?) thing – but I had a crack!
Thanks for the tag – I enjoyed reading yours and doing mine. I found a whole shop devoted to Colin Firth: http://www.colinfirthshop.com/
An even bigger fan than you and Eloise mayhaps?
